Tis the season to make Christmas fruitcake! I didn’t have the supermarket bought mixed spice but I did have all the spices needed for it, so why not make it from scratch?! I usually bring my spices with me from Lebanon where they are freshly ground for that extra rich flavour 😍
Ingredient
1 tablespoon
cinnamon powder
1 teaspoon
allspice
1 teaspoon
ginger powder
1 teaspoon
coriander powder
1 teaspoon
nutmeg
1 teaspoon
caraway powder (optional)
1/4 teaspoon
cardamom powder (optional)
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
I didn’t have powdered clove so I made my own. Just grind some whole cloves using a pestle and mortar.
* Step 2
Mix all the spices and store in a jar. Use two teaspoons of the mixed spice to make the best and most delicious fruitcake!
