Mutton Curry

#mutton #curry #toc4 #cookpadindia Whenever we have a potluck party or get together ( party) at my place, I cook this for my mutton lover friends and family. My younger sister who is not a mutton lover loves to eat Mutton only if only cooked by me.

Ingredient

Food ration :

8-10 servings

1 kg (750 gms)

200 gms

Curd

1/2 Tsp

Onion Powder

1/2 Cup

Mustard oil

500 gms

Onion sliced

as per taste

Salt

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Marinate and keep the mutton overnight in the curd mix (In the fridge). Heat the mustard oil and add in the onion slice, when it starts browning, add in the Marinated mutton pieces and saute it for 5-10. Then add the Ginger and Garlic paste, turmeric & Kashmiri LAL Mirch powder, Cummin and Coriander powder, salt as per taste and bhunno/ saute it further for 5-10 minutes. Add little hot water as needed to bhunno it so that the masala doesn't burn.

* Step 2

Then add enough hot water and close the lid and cook till the meat is almost cooked. Add water as needed. The cooking time depends on quality and size of the pieces of the mutton. Atlast add the Garam Masala powder or homemade paste and cook for few more minutes and till the oil seperates from the gravy. If you want dry kind of curry with masala / gravy sticking to the mutton pieces then there is not need to add water or else add hot water and adjust consistency of the gravy. Enjoy !
