Walnut Tea

#boxweek19 #walnut #mysterybox Walnut Tea is the Traditional Tea of Gilgit Baltistan where walnut is grown in abundance. The tea is made with the addition of walnut paste made in Mortar and pestle along with tea leaves. The paste is made and diluted in water a bit to form like a milk ( walnut milk) and added in place of the regular milk. Some add regular milk too along with it. As per your taste salt or sugar is added. For people leaving in plain area, it's best to have this beverage in winter. Tips : Wash and soak the dry walnut in water for at least an hour so that it's softens up and is easy to make the paste, add the same water to make the paste. #cookpadindia #vegantea #vegan #walnuttea #tea

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash & Soak the walnuts for an hour for easy grinding in mortar and pestle or mixer grinder, use the same water to aid in grinding, if needed. Make a paste and dilute a bit in about a cup of water to make Walnut milk.

In a pot or sauce pan, boil water and add the tea leaves and let it steep for few minutes. Then add the walnut paste/ milk and boil for few minutes. Add salt or sugar as per taste in it or you can add in individual cups/ glasses. Strain and serve. Enjoy hot/ warm!
