Kholey (Rice and Moong Dal Porridge)

This is Tibetan style Rice Porridge but my Granny loved to temper it in the Nepali/Indian style and added moong Dal to make it a more healthy and wholesome meal. Adding turmeric powder is an option but I love adding it.
One of my quick favourite breakfast and we have it too often when we are sick. My Grandma used to make this often when we were kids.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Wash the dal and rice and add in enough water and boil and cook along with ginger paste, turmeric, mustard oil, and salt. Add hot water as needed. Once the Dal and rice get cooked and become mushy and thick consistency like a kichdi that means it's done. Heat ghee in a pan, add whole dry red chili and Ajwain, once it splutters add into the Kholey or porridge. Mix and Serve hot!
