Coconut Rice 🌾(nariyal chawal)

#GCS #CoconutRice healthy and flavoured white rice recipe mainly cooked with grated fresh coconut and basmati rice. the recipe is very similar to the other popular version of coconut milk rice but is prepared in a more simpler way. the dish typically consumed with a spicy curry like kurma or kuzhambu, but can also be consumed as it is for breakfast and lunch.

10-15 minutes

urad dal

1 tsp

chana dal

2 cups

cooked rice

1/2 tsp

salt

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Firstly, in a large Kadai heat 3 tsp oil and saute 1 tsp mustard, Β½ tsp urad dal, 1 tsp chana dal, a few curry leaves, and 1 dried red chili.

Also add 2 green chillies, and 1-inch ginger. saute slightly.

* Step 3

Now add 10 cashews and roast till the cashews turn golden brown.

* Step 4

Add in ΒΎ cup grated coconut and saute for a minute or till the raw smell goes away.

Further, add 2 cups cooked rice and Β½ tsp salt. mix gently without breaking the rice.

Now cover and simmer for 2 minutes, or till rice absorbs coconut flavour. Finally, Serve.

Ready to serve. With a spicy curry kurma, chutney, papad, and with your choice.
