This is a spicier and more savoury twist on my baked club sub recipe (see my profile) using jalapeรฑo cheese, and different sauces Try also with some well-done smoked streaky bacon rashers

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Slice a sub roll or a large hot dog roll

* Step 2

Slice some chicken to cover the bottom piece

* Step 3

Add some sliced Mexicana cheese (cheddar with jalapeรฑos and bell peppers)

* Step 4

Then some BBQ sauce or ketchup. I'm using Sweet Baby Ray's Hickory & Brown sugar BBQ sauce

* Step 5

Then tear up the left over chicken, add to the sandwich, and season well

* Step 6

Slice some Swiss cheese (I'm using Emmental), and cover the chicken

Next add a layer of ham

Then some sliced tomato

A good drizzle of ketchup...

....and some basil

Tear some more ham on top and season well (remember you'll get a lot of pepperiness coming from the cheese)

Add some more cheese

Add the lid, skewer, and enjoy as is or...

Pop in a preheated hot oven for at least 10 minutes until the cheese melts and the bun turns crusty
