California Farm Cast Iron Garbanzo Bacon Stew

Cubed bacon, cubed celeriac, sliced onion, sliced carrot, sliced celery, diced potato, soaked garbanzo beans, bouqet garni in chicken broth, salt and pepper, a hearty, tasty meal in an hour.

Ingredient

2 people, 4 dinners

Cooking time :

10 minutes stir fry, 1 hour simmer

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Fry bacon in olive oil in cast iron pan till melted, about three minutes.

Add onion, carrot, celery, celeriac, potato, stir fry till fragrant.

Add soaked garbanzo, chicken broth and bouquet garni, bring to boil, simmer an hour. Remove bouquet garni, add salt and pepper to taste, serve.

* Step 4

You can skip the overnight soak of the garbanzo beans by making flour from the dry garbanzo beans in your food processor, 3 minutes, sieve out the coarser bits to grind in your coffee grinder.
