Apple Tart 🍏

I was inspired by Thatcherfocaccia's recipe I cooksnapped, so I created my own version using apples to give to my grandma. I hope you like it!! You could make a larger version using a full sheet of the pastry, just double the quantities.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Pre-heat the oven to gas mark 6

* Step 2

Roll out the puff pastry and cut a 15x30cm rectangle out. Place onto a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper.

* Step 3

Peel and core the apple, cut into flat slices, Note, here you might need more fruit, depending on the size of the fruit.

* Step 4

Mix the marmalade and apple compote together (I recommend warming it up together). Spread the compote on the pastry, leave a gap (2cm) between the edge of the pastry. Leave some aside.

* Step 5

Lay the apple slices on the compote, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Cook in the oven for 45-50 minutes, you should be able to see if it is done because the pastry should puff up in the middle.

* Step 6

Remove from the oven and leave to cool on a rack for 10-15 minutes. Warm up the remaining compote and marmalade. Spread over the tart to make a glaze. This tart is particularly delicious cold, otherwise enjoy warm with some custard!!
