Lychee Tea

It was my daughter who introduced Lychee Tea to me. It was a very sweet but refreshing drink. I usually don’t enjoy very sweet drinks, but I enjoyed it. Fresh Lychees are not easy to find where I live, but Canned Lychees are available from many supermarket stores. I bought one from a Woolworths store. This recipe might be different from the authentic ones, but it makes fairly nice Lychee Tea. It might be a good idea to make this Lychee Tea not so sweet, and serve it with Syrup.

Ingredient

Food ration :

6 to 8 Servings *Makes about 1.5L
4 cups

Water

1 can (560 g)

Lychees in Syrup

4 tablespoons

Sugar *OR as required

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Make your favourite Tea. This is the easiest method. Bring Water in a saucepan to the boil, remove from heat, then add Tea Bags. Make the tea stronger than normal. Remove Tea Bags and cool slightly.

* Step 2

Add the canned Lychees and Syrup to the Tea, add Sugar for extra sweetness to suit your taste, and cool completely. *Note: It might be a good idea to make the Lychee Tea not so sweet, and serve it with Syrup.

* Step 3

Place in a jug OR pitcher, and chill in the fridge.

* Step 4

When you serve, place Ice Cubes in the glasses, pour the tea, and add some Lychees. *Note: You can add some fresh Lychees for amazing fragrance and flavour.
