Ginger Snaps
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, combine about half the flour and all off the brown sugar, shortening, molasses, egg, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
* Step 2
Beat with an electric mixer on medium to high speed till thoroughly combine, scraping the sides of the bowl occasionally.
* Step 3
Beat or stir in the remaining flour.
* Step 4
Shape the dough into 1-inch balls. Roll the balls in sugar to coat.
* Step 5
Place cookies 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 8-10 minutes or till edges are set and tops are crackled. Cool on a cookie sheet for 1 minute. Remove cookies and cool on wire rack.
