Lee's Old School Salisbury Steaks
Just a good old fashioned style comfort meal.
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
In a large bowl, mix 1/3 cup of French onion soup, worcestershire,egg, breadcrumbs, 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder, salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder. Combine well with ground beef. Form beef mixture into 4 (5.5 ounce) football shaped patty's. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm the patty's up.
* Step 2
When ready, heat up vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium high heat. Sear beef patty's for 3-4 minutes until well browned. Carefully flip patty's and cook an additional 3-4 until bottom side is browned. When done remove beef patty's and clean frying from the remaining vegetable oil. Optional : (caramelize sliced onion in 2 tablespoons of the remaining vegetable oil at this point if desired, and add to french onion soup mixture)
* Step 3
Meanwhile mix together the remaining French onion soup, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce, ketchup, and remaining 1 teaspoon mustard powder. In a separate cup mix warm water together with the corn starch. Add to the french onion soup mixture, and stir together until well blended.
* Step 4
Place beef patty's back in the frying pan, and pour onion soup mixture over the patty's. Over medium low heat, simmer beef patty's for 20 minutes covered. When finished, serve with side dishes of choice. Enjoy
