Dalmoth or Fried Masoor Daal

#fest #cookpadindia A savoury snack very popular in India. Dalmoth or Dalmuth or Dal Moth Namkeen is a great snack made with Whole Masoor Daal or Red Lentils. But here in this simple recipe shared here, it is just deep fried Daal which is tossed in a few simple spices.

* Step 1

Wash and soak them in enough water overnight or at least for about 4-5 hours. This is important.

* Step 2

Drain well and set aside. Meanwhile heat Oil for frying on a low flame. Take a wide and a deep slotted spoon for this purpose. Fry in batches. Do not over crowd the kadai.

Fry until crisp and done. Do it on a medium high to high heat keeping a check on the temperature. Otherwise you might end up burning them. And be careful while you are frying.

That's it. After done with frying, toss it well with the rest of the ingredients mentioned. Serve it as a snack or a lovely munchie. Your folks will definitely love it. You can store them in a container after it's completely cool and relish for a week or more. It will remain good. Enjoy!
