Dalmoth or Fried Masoor Daal

A savoury snack very popular in India. Dalmoth or Dalmuth or Dal Moth Namkeen is a great snack made with Whole Masoor Daal or Red Lentils. But here in this simple recipe shared here, it is just deep fried Daal which is tossed in a few simple spices.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Wash and soak them in enough water overnight or at least for about 4-5 hours. This is important.
* Step 2
Drain well and set aside. Meanwhile heat Oil for frying on a low flame. Take a wide and a deep slotted spoon for this purpose. Fry in batches. Do not over crowd the kadai.
* Step 3
Fry until crisp and done. Do it on a medium high to high heat keeping a check on the temperature. Otherwise you might end up burning them. And be careful while you are frying.
* Step 4
That's it. After done with frying, toss it well with the rest of the ingredients mentioned. Serve it as a snack or a lovely munchie. Your folks will definitely love it.
You can store them in a container after it's completely cool and relish for a week or more. It will remain good. Enjoy!
