Aam Khana

This is an excellent one in every Summers. In my maternal home, it's a simple meal every Summer afternoon or night. Be it a Lunch or a Dinner, it's enjoyed with King of Fruits - the ever delicious Mangoes. And Khana in Hyderabad means simple plain boiled Rice. It's not referred to as Chawal. It is rather called as Khana. Which in plain words means that it is plain boiled White Rice. If it is tempered, it is called Baghara Khana. So that's the actual thing. So this one means Mangoes with cooked Rice. As simple as that. Isn't it a simple idea to relish our meals in Summers. Well it is! I prefer it over any other lavish meal on any given day. That's the beauty of this amazing dish. Everyone in my family loves it and it is a regular feature all through the Summers and will always be.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
This is practically a no fuss recipe. An excellent option in Summers. Add Rice to a serving platter and top it up with either cubed or sliced Mangoes.
* Step 2
That's it. As simple as that. Delicious and juicy Mangoes with juice from it dripping in the plate makes it an ideal Summer meal. It's such a wonderful meal that it's almost a daily feature at meals throughout the Summers in my home.
* Step 3
This is my maternal home's favourite one and my mom makes it for us even today including her grind children. Today I served it with Raw Mango and Toor Khatti Daal alongside juicy and sweet Mangoes. Yum!
