Thakkali thokku is a kind of spicy tomato pickle served with dosa or idli in Tamil Nadu. It can be storeed in airtight container for a month.

Cooking instructions
* Step 2
Grind tomatoes to a fine paste/puree in a mixer.
* Step 3
Dry roast fenugreek seeds in a separate kadhai and grind it to a powder.
* Step 4
Heat oil in a kadhai and put mustard seeds. when mustard seeds starts to splutter, add asafoetida and sauté for 30 seconds.
* Step 5
Now add tomato puree and cook it on low flame till oil leaves the karahi sides. It may take 10 minutes.
* Step 6
Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt, fenugreek seeds powder and cook on low flame for 5 minutes.
* Step 7
Transfer it in a serving bowl and serve with rice, dosa or idli.
