Luxurious walnuts meet the desi sweetness

Figs went on Date to meet walnuts without taking any sugar !! They are so proud of their sweetness that they do not require any add on sugar. Together as a team they worked well on my non-stick pan and created a fantastic new dessert. Little effort by me and my favourite flavours did the finishing. Oh !!not to forget the greens, the humble pista which enhanced the beauty of my dish. So here I present before you a My Luxurious walnutty crunchy halwa with the coolness of vanilla iceream .Unbelievable taste ,warm halwa with drooling homemade vanilla scoop!! #walnuttwists #stayhome #staysafe #sangitakalra

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Chop walnuts and dry roast them slightly on a griddle. Soak the pista in some warm water. Then remove the peels and get soft green pista to garnish.

* Step 2

Soak figs and dates for 15 mins seperately in some warm water keep them covered. Figs will become tender, squeeze them out and finally chop them.

* Step 3

Give a light crush to the dates by adding little water. Now in a non-stick pan add ghee and both the dates and figs. Cook on medium flame. Lightly give them a churn with a blender. If they are not blending properly add little more water to get a coarse paste so that dates and figs are well combined.

* Step 4

Now add the roasted walnuts leaving a few to garnish on top and keep mixing till you get a halwa consistency. Add few pista to give green touch here and there along with either kewra essence or gulab jal. Now while serving warm your halwa and with a small scooper or a round spoon, scoop the vanilla ice cream and serve garnish with roasted walnuts,pista and a red tutti fruity or a cherry if you have.

Notes 1. If you do not like the crunchy seeds of figs,you can puree them.I personally like the crunch so I didn't puree it fully. 2 You can increase the dates and decrease the figs quantity if you want. We love figs and dates so this ratio was a hit for us.
