Easier Than Apple Pie (inspired By McCormick's Recipe)
This recipe is from McCormick's & Co. Just wanted to share. My daughter and I prepared, baked and ate it in under an hour! Easy as pie!!
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
PREPARE crust as directed on package. Place on foil lined baking sheet. If necessary, press out any folds.
* Step 2
Mix 3/4 cup sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon. Toss with apples. Add crushed walnuts and mix well. Spoon into center of crust, spreading to within 2 inches of edges. Fold 2 inch edge of crust over apples, pleating crust as needed. Brush crust with egg white, sprinkle with 1 teaspoon sugar.
* Step 3
Bake in preheated 425°F oven 20 minutes or until apples are tender. Cool slightly before serving.
* Step 4
Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or Carmel topping, or both, and enjoy!
