Tinklee's Homestyle Fried Chicken

this is how my mom showed me years ago to make fried chicken I just changed her seasonings to suit our tastes instead, love this hot or cold

Ingredient

Food ration :

4 servings
1 cup

flour

1 1/2 tsp

garlic powder

1 1/2 tsp

onion powder

1/2 tsp

ground sage

1/2 tsp

pepper

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

mix flour and seasonings together

* Step 2

heat fryiny pan on just the high side of medium, add shortening to pan for frying the chicken

* Step 3

dip chicken into flour, add floured chicken to frying pan

* Step 4

watch heat to make sure its not to hot, turn down if needed or up, when golden, turn and brown the other side

* Step 5

when chicken is done, remove chicken from pan, and place on paper towels, then serve

* Step 6

To make chicken gravy with the pan drippings

* Step 7

drain grease, add flour(the same amount as drippings) to drippings make a roux, then add some chicken broth, stock, or even milk to the roux, bring to boil and boil for 3 mins season to taste and you have a nice chicken gravy to go with

* Step 8
