Rolled Cookies (Roll Kuchen)

Passed down from Grandma Klassen. A family favorite!

Ingredient

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Preheat oil for deep frying between 360-375 degrees Fahrenheit

* Step 2

Mix all ingredients EXCEPT flour

* Step 3

Add in flour until mixture is sticky (just enough to be rolled). Approximately 2 cups, but less is more

* Step 4

Sprinkle counter with flour and roll out dough in thin sheets

* Step 5

Cut rolled dough into squares with two small slits cut out of centers (this helps them stabilize in oil)

* Step 6

Fry squares for 30 seconds or so flipping once

* Step 7

Serve with side of fresh fruit, or try stuffing with strawberries before frying!
