Sesame Chicken
#Nov #W2
Sesame Chicken is a popular Indo-Chinese side dish that can be made easily at home. Here boneless chicken cubes are marinated and crispy fried and then doused in a sweet, salty, and tangy sauce made with honey, garlic, tomato ketchup, and soy sauce. The sauce also has a nutty flavour from toasted sesame seeds.
Enjoy it garnished with chopped cilantro and red and green chilies and toasted with sesame seeds as an appetizer or serve it with steamed rice or Chinese fried rice or noodles.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces. Wash chicken and pat dry. Marinate the cubed chicken with salt, cornflour, black pepper powder, egg white, soy sauce, chili sauce, vinegar, garlic paste, and oil for an hour.
* Step 2
Mix cornflour, flour, and baking powder in a bowl. Dredge the marinated chicken by tossing in the flour mix. Shake off extra flour. The flour mixed with cornstarch and baking powder makes a crispy coating on the chicken and gives it a golden colour. Once the chicken is dredged, refrigerate for half hour for the batter to stick to thechicken while frying.Heat oil in a pan and fry the chicken on high heat in batches till light golden.Fry a second time for 2-3 minutes to get a extra crispy coating.
* Step 3
Remove excess oil. Heat 2 tbsp oil and saute garlic until light brown and aromatic. Dilute the sauces and vinegar. Mix with water or chicken stock. Add honey or sugar, and salt to taste and pour it on the sautéed garlic. Make a slurry of cornflour and continue stirring till the sauce thickens.
* Step 4
Add the fried chicken and coat in the sauce. Sprinkle sesame seeds and a drizzle of oil. Garnish with finely chopped red and green chilies and chopped cilantro. Serve it with steamed rice,Chinese fried rice, or noodles.
