Pulao in rice cooker (easy peasy)

Pulao in rice cooker (easy peasy)

This is one easy recipe for bachelors and families alike especially when you're very hungry. That's one reason why I did not take step by step pictures. My apologies

Ingredient

Food ration :

2 servings

Cooking time :

30 minutes
1.5 cups

rice

to taste

Salt

3 tablespoons

oil

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Take a thick bottomed pan and add oil. Once hot, add the potatoes and cover with a lid. After 2 minutes, take the lid off and stir till the potatoes gain a golden color crisp shell.

* Step 2

Now add the remaining vegetables and place the lid again. After 5 minutes the veggies with be partly cooked.

Separately, in a rice cooker (not pressure cooker) add the rice and begin the usual cooking process.

* Step 4

Coming back to the pan, take the veggies aside. In the remaining oil, add the bay leaf, cardamom, cloves and cinnamon. Fry for about a minute.

* Step 5

Now add back the cooked veggies into this pan and stir about 2 minutes till the spices and vegetables mix well.

.By this time the water in the rice cooker would have begun bubbling. Add the veggies mix to the rice and mix well. Place the lid off rice cooker

Keep mixing in between to ensure that the rice and vegetables get well together

* Step 8

After the cooker time is done, mix again and allow to cool a bit before serving

* Step 9

Serve with raita, salad and garnish with coriander
