Split Black Gram Fritters - Medu Vada.

Split Black Gram Fritters - Medu Vada.

They are so amazing, that you end up making them every alternate days! And Sooooo easy to make too!

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Soak the Split Black Gram in water overnight.

* Step 2

After 12 hours, dry roast the ingredients under the Dry Roast column above in a pan till the color turns to stark white.

* Step 3

Drain the soaked Split Black Gram and blitz it along with the dry roasted ingredients, pepper corns, salt, and baking soda.

* Step 4

It should be a fine thick paste. Add very little water if it's difficult to blitz.

* Step 5

Heat oil in a vessel (to deep fry) and add small amounts of the dough paste in the vessel through a spoon. Take it out when the color turns to the picture above.

* Step 6

You can have this with any sauce, but the authentic sauce for this is a Coconut Chutney.
