Japanese Crab Cream Croquettes ๐Ÿฆ€๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต

If you like crab or crabstick meat, please try making this crispy and creamy croquettes! In Japan, it is usually served in good-old family restaurants. This can be enjoyed as a main dish for dinner as well as kids can bring to the school in their bento box! #cppassport

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Heat a pan under a low - medium heat and add butter.

Add flour and mix well. Once it's mixed well, add 1/3 of milk and mix well with a spatula. Add the rest of milk little by little and make white cream. Add salt, pepper and consomme powder.

Shred crab meat and mix together with white sauce. If you are using canned real crab meat, then please add the crab juice too.

Turn off the heat when the liquid is evaporated and the white sauce becomes thick enough to form shapes. Wait until the heat is removed and you can also cool it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes(This process makes the white sauce less sticky and easier to form the shapes).

* Step 5

Once it's cooled, separate the mixture into 4 portions and make into croquette shapes. (You can make small ones for your lunch box.)

Prepare 3 separate bowls with flour, beaten eggs and breadcrumbs. Dip each of the croquette patty into the flour first, then the beaten egg and finally the breatcrumbs until well coated.

Heat some cooking oil to be around 160โ„ƒ and fry the croquettes until they are golden brown and crispy! Try not to touch the croquettes while deep frying. Just turn them once. Enjoy!
