Crock pot leftover bone in ham lentil soup

After Christmas we always have left over ham. After 1-2 day of eating ham it gets boring. So I like to make new dishes with left overs.

Ingredient

Food ration :

6 servings

Cooking time :

4-8 slow cook
1 1/4 cup

lentil beans

1 clove

garlic

2 tsp

pepper

1 tsp

salt

2 leaves

epazote herb

2-3 cups

water

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Start by placing lentil beans in a bowl. Soak in water for 1 hour or until you see water absorbed.

* Step 2

Cut potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, garlic. Place in crock pot.

* Step 3

Rinse lentil beans and set on top of vegetables.

* Step 4

Pour in water into crock pot to cover ingredients. Add water to be about 1/4 inch above lentil.

* Step 5

Place bacon, then place cut up ham. Then add salt, and pepper, last add epazote. Cover and set time on crock pot for 4-8 hours. I usually cook overnight and in the morning it smells amazing.
