Cooking instructions

* Step 1

To begin making the Veg Chowmein, boil the water adding 2 – 3 teaspoons salt and a tablespoon of oil to it. When the water starts boiling, add the noodles and cook al dente.

* Step 2

Drain the noodles in a sieve and rinse with room temperature water in the sieve itself, to stop it’s further cooking. Drain out the water completely.

* Step 3

Lightly rub about a tablespoon of oil to the noodles to prevent them from sticking to each other. Keep aside till use.

* Step 4

Chop finely the spring onion greens and shred or slice thinly the onions and mentioned vegetables.

* Step 5

Heat a wok and add the oil to it. Add the chopped garlic and saute till browned and the oil gets a garlic flavour.

* Step 6

Add the onions and saute on high flame. Add the other vegetables after about a minute or two and toss on high flame for a while till they are slightly sauteed.

* Step 7

Now add the sauces, vinegar, black pepper powder and salt to taste and give it a good mix.

* Step 8

Add the cooked hakka noodles and the chopped onion greens and give it a good toss.

* Step 9

Check seasoning and adjust as per taste.

* Step 10

Serve this delicious street style Veg Chowmein for lunch or dinner or for your parties!
