Broad beans and ham Spanish style
This is a delicious combination of flavours made in Spain but you can enjoy it anywhere. In the UK broad bean recipes tend towards mint-related or stews. But serrano ham really combines well as would bacon if you can't access ham. Make as a starter (on a toast canapé drizzled with olive oil if you want to go posh), a side or, mixed with any pasta and a handful of grated parmesan, as a main. Hope you like it ☺

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Wash, chop and sauté the onion in olive oil until it softens
* Step 2
Shell the beans or get a helper to do it for you (if helper is your son I suggest using a bait such as football on tele)
* Step 3
Cut the ham and add to the pan
* Step 4
Add the shelled beans (thank you son!)
* Step 5
Stir well, add a small glass of water, a pinch of salt and the oregano. When it starts to bubble, turn heat down to minimum, cover and cook for 5 minutes
* Step 6
After five minutes, test a bean for tenderness. Continue to cook if you want softer beans. Put the heat up for a while if you want less sauce
* Step 7
Drizzle with some olive oil, serve and enjoy ☺
