Besan

1.5 cups

milk

1/4 cup

ghee

1/4 teaspoon

cardamom powder

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Melt ghee in a pan. Reduce heat to low

Add Besan and mix well

* Step 3

Over low heat, saute for 13-14 minutes until aromat. It's essential that Besan is well roasted to prevent raw taste

Meanwhile bring milk to boil in separate vessel

Add 1 cup milk and mix well until lump free

* Step 6

Add remaining milk and stir well

* Step 7

Add sugar and mix well

Cook until Besan is well cooked and mixture leaves sides of the pan

* Step 9

Add cardamom and nuts. Mix well

* Step 10

Top with few saffron strands, nuts and serve halwa warm or cold as desired
