Hedgerow Blackberry Sauce

Hedgerow Blackberry Sauce

We love picking blackberries! It’s one of our favourite activities in late summer and we have lots of blackberry bushes on the cycle tracks by our house. I make this sauce for the children and they have it on ice cream, it’s also great with thick Greek yoghurt. #familyfriendly

Ingredient

Honey

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Wash the blackberries really thoroughly, drain and then add to a saucepan.

* Step 2

Cook over a gentle heat for a good 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes or so.

* Step 3

Taste the blackberries now and add as much honey as you want to sweeten it. Great the blackberries are sweet you may only need a few teaspoons.

* Step 4

I cool and sieve the sauce into a bowl because I don’t like the pips and neither do my children!
