Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Wash and add enough water to the Dal to boil in pot. To this add ginger paste, turmeric powder and mustard oil and put it on the flame for boiling & cooking. After about 10 minutes add the salt as per taste....and cook further, if required add some hot water to it...and let it boil & cook.
* Step 2
In the meantime, peel the mango cut into long pieces and boil it with two cups of water for about 15 minutes. The mango becomes soft and mushy.
* Step 3
The Dal here is almost cooked for 30 minutes and has become soft and mushy....blend it with your traditional wooden Dal Ghotni and then add the boiled mango along with its water in the Dal and mix it. Boil for another 5 minutes or so, add coriander...adjust the consistency of the Dal you want, if required add hot water. Check salt and you are done.
* Step 5
Heat mustard oil in a tempering pan, once it starts smoking add the mustard seeds and whole dry chilli, once mustard starts crackling add it into the Dal and close the Dal with a lid. After sometimes mix it and serve it while it's still hot with hot steamed rice!!!!
