Hing khichdi with white peas, potato and paneer curry

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
For hingu khichdi
In a pan dry roast both moong dal and raw rice separately.
As you get a nice aroma, dish out and wash each of them properly.
Then keep it in a colander.
* Step 2
Next heat a pressure cooker with oil. Splutter cumin seeds. Add bay leaf, black peppercorns, ginger, green chilies, and hing. Mix well.
* Step 3
Next, add the strained rice and moong dal. Saute for some time.
Then add hot water, salt, and ghee. Give a nice gentle mix.
* Step 4
Now put the pressure cooker lid and cook for 2 whistles at medium heat.
Switch the flame off and do not disturb.
* Step 5
As it releases pressure, remove the lid and fluff up the rice.
Aromatic...hot...hingu khichdi is ready!!
* Step 6
Next, make a spicy curry as accompaniment.
Heat a kadhai with oil. Splutter cumin seeds.
Add chopped onion. Saute till translucent. Next, add ginger garlic paste and saute for some more time.
* Step 7
Next, add tomato puree.
(Pureed with green chilies cinnamon stick, a few black peppercorns, and cardamom)
* Step 8
Now add a little salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, curry powder and sugar.
Add little water and give a nice mix.
Let the masala cook and leave oil.
* Step 9
Next, add the boiled potatoes. Give a gentle mix so that the masala gets well coated. Next, add the boiled white peas. Give a stirring mix.
Let it cook together on medium heat for some time. Add garam masala. Mix. Check the salt, as white peas already have salt in it, add as much as needed.
As the flavours combine well with each other, add water and let it come to a boil, then add the sauteed paneer.
Mix all. Add crushed kasuri methi.

Spicy yummy curry is ready!!
