A delicious Middle Eastern dessert that everyone will love. Shredded filo pastry is blended with butter, pressed into a pie tin, topped with a layer of sweet cheese filling, baked and then drenched in a rose water syrup. The cheese filling is traditionally made from Nabulsi cheese that is unsalted.The ricotta or (homemade khoya)-mozzarella mix is a great substitute.

* Step 1

1- Preheat your Oven 180c, 350f, Gas Mark 4.

4- grease the tin and add the half of the pheni and press down firmly.

7-bake for 15-20 minutes.

9- once baked add the sugar syrup on the top while hot, leave for 10 minutes to settle down.
