Mexican Strawberry Horchata: Aguas Frescas
This one’s basically the Latin American Beverage- which’s immensely delicious & the most popular from the land…
Originated in Valencia (Spain), in the 13th Century-
FYI, Valencia is also popularly known for the famous 'Paella' Rice and precisely, so many different types of the most popular & delectable dishes have been originated from the land itself...!!!

12-15 mins. Prep Time: 10-12 hrs.
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
To begin with: Wash the aforesaid measured rice grains for at least 2-3 times in running water until the water turns clear- Drain the excess water- Soak it now, with some Lukewarm water along with the Cinnamon Stick and the blanched & peeled almonds with the lid on- Overnight
* Step 2
Next Day: In a Blender Jar- Add in the soaked Rice, cinnamon and almonds with initially little water & add in the water (we’re to use the soaked water since it contains & retains all its nice fragrances & aroma) gradually- Then, once its done absolutely nice & smooth, pass the blended mixture through a sieve in order to avoid any lumps or chunks & if any at all- Then again blend it to nice smooth texture & sieve it all
* Step 3
FYI: Overnight soaking of the rice, cinnamon & almonds- yields such an amazingly smooth delectable mixture hence not to skip this VVI Step in order to achieve the best-est results
Also, passing the entire mixture post blending makes it even more smoother & DELISH
* Step 4
You can also adjust the very consistency of the drink by adding in some chilled water to it- During the time of blending it, post adding the condensed milk & cream, aforesaid
Once that’s done t’s time to assemble the same: Take a glass/pitcher/tumbler of your choice- Add into the same, some ice cubes & then, pour into the liquid in it
* Step 5
As the garnish you can also add in some cut up fresh strawberries if you’re using the same- For me it’s the frozen ones hence, I puréed it all…Alternatively, any strawberry syrups all along the glass & then pour in the liquid to it- You can go creative, in your very own way…it’s even more better!
* Step 6
Finally, sprinkle some ground cinnamon powder- just a dash of it on the top since, the original version of this particular drink is just the 3 major basic ingredients & that stew: The long grain aromatic Raw Rice, Cinnamon, Almonds, Milk & Honey/Sugar- Hence, you can tweak it when exploring its various versions, as per your choice, tastes & convenience
* Step 7
It’s now the TIME TO ENJOY THIS…Immensely, flavourful and delectable unique Rice-Cinnamon Drink….AGUAS FRESCAS or HORCHATA DÈ FRESCAS
