Heart Shaped Puri

Heart Shaped Puri

Well, there’s no Rocket Science behind this. It’s the simple normal puri as we usually do prepare at home. Just to give it a different touch for the upcoming occasion of this Valentine’s Day- I’ve simply mixed a bit of Red Food Colour to it & also have given it a Heart shape for the purpose & it’s DONE !

Ingredient

Food ration :

1-2 people

Cooking time :

30-35 mins
1/2 tsp

Salt

1/4 tsp

Sugar

1 1/2 tbsp

Ghee/Oil

2-3 tbsp

Plain Yoghurt

as needed

Water

as needed

Red Food Colour

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a large mixing bowl/parat: Add in all the aforementioned ingredients and knead the dough well, with as much water is required- Don’t pour the entire water, at one go

The dough should be absolutely smooth enough yet a bit tight & not lose like the normal chapati/phulka dough, once almost done- mix the food colour to it & knead it well again

Cover & set aside for about 20-30 mins time- Then, take a lemon sized dough in your hands- Roll it out round & make the same with as many pieces it’d yield & what size you want out of that

* Step 4

Now, apply some oil on the rolling surface & the rolling pin, roll it out all like any normal Puri & then, with the help of the Heart shaped Cookie Cutter, cut it out into heart shaped puris

* Step 5

Now, in a wok/frying pan/kadhai: Heat up the measured oil over the high flame & allow it to fumigate, reduce the flame to medium & deep fry all the puris one by one & if your wok/pan/kadhai is big enough, you can fry 2-3 puris at one go

* Step 6

Once done: Transfer them to a plate, pre-lined with the kitchen towel to soak the excess oil, for sure.& we’re ready to serve it with our very choicest condiments
