Homemade waffles

Waffles are a delightful breakfast treat! They come in various styles, from classic to Belgian, and can be topped with a wide range of delicious options like fresh fruit, whipped cream, syrup, or even savory toppings like fried chicken.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Whisk together the flour, cornstarch, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and sugar in a large bowl.

* Step 2

In a separate bowl, whisk the buttermilk, oil, and vanilla extract.

* Step 3

Whisk the egg into the milk mixture..

* Step 4

Whisk the milk mixture into the dry ingredients until only small lumps are left.

* Step 5

Set the batter aside for 10 to 20 minutes while preparing the waffle iron.

* Step 6

Heat the waffle iron to the highest heat setting. add enough batter to the waffle iron to fill the entire lower grid.

* Step 7

Cook waffles until golden and crisp.

* Step 8

Serve with desired toppings.
