Gulab jamun French toast

Introducing Gulab Jamun French Toast! Gulab Jamun French Toast is the sweet iftar treat that fuses together the best of the East and West. Fluffy French Toast slices stuffed with a cardamom whipped cream cream with gulab jamun syrup and bits of gulab jamun mixed in. And that’s not all, this fusion stuffed French toast is topped with more cream cheese, caramalised sugar and gulab jamun. Heaven!

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

In a bowl beat cream cheese until smooth and creamy.

* Step 2

Add in powdered sugar and beat until incorporated.

* Step 3

Add in 2 tablespoons of rose water, cardamom powder, 1 tablespoon of milk and syrup. Beat until all ingredients are incorporated and the mixture is smooth and creamy. The consistency should be that of a spread.

* Step 4

Take a slice of bread, spread some of the cream cheese mixture on it. Place some chopped gulab jamuns over the cream cheese mixture. Top with another slice of bread (if preferred, add some cream cheese mixture), creating a sandwich.

* Step 5

Repeat with remaining bread.

* Step 6

In a shallow bowl combine eggs, 1/2 cup milk and rosewater. Light beat with a fork until incorporated.

* Step 7

Melt butter in a pan on low heat.

* Step 8

Dip each sandwich in the egg mixture, make sure to evenly coat both sides.

* Step 9

Place on frying pan and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown.

* Step 10

Add a light layer of cream cheese, sprinkle powdered sugar on top and cramalise the sugar with blow torch.

* Step 11

Top with gulab jamun. Serve cold or warm.
