Tahri is a yellow rice dish in Awadhi cuisine.spices and potatoes are added to the rice for flavour and colour .it was developed by the Muslim Nawabs of Awadh in South Asia.This is most popular dish of UP and Bihar.Tahri is one of mine and my family favorite rice dish. Easy to prepare and full of flavour.It take less time and effort to cook can easily prepare in morning for the lunch box so that when in lunch time lunch box get open then the opener will have a big smile on face and finish delicious food in no time😋. So without wasting any time let’s head to the kitchen and prepare today’s lunch box.👩🏻🍳

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
First of all we will fry the onion in golden brown and keep it aside for further use.
* Step 2
Now will make paste of small onion and tomato paste in mixer grinder.
* Step 3
In a hot pan add ghee and whole dried spices let them crack for minute then add onion tomato paste to it stir well then add ginger garlic paste and all the spices powder and salt sauté it till the masala release ghee from it.
* Step 4
Now add in potato and peas to the masala sauté it nicely for 5 minutes then add the measured water to the pan and bring it to boil on high heat.
* Step 5
Now add the washed and soaked rice to the boiling masala mix it well cover and cook till water get observed by rice on high heat.
* Step 6
Later slow the heat and sprinkle the golden brown onion mix with light hand so that rice do not get broken and then sprinkle again with fried onion on it cover and cook for more 10 minutes on lowest heat.
* Step 7
After 10 minutes your delicious Tahri is ready to pack for lunch box and can be enjoyed in lunch time with boondi raita,cucumber and strawberry
