Bottle Gourd Gravy

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Firstly take a pressure cooker. Place it on the flame. Heat oil in a pressure cooker now adds cumin seeds and dry red chilli. When cumin seeds sizzle, add finely chopped onions and saute them for 2 minutes.

* Step 2

Now add ginger garlic paste. Saute it for a minute. Now add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, chili powder, and coriander powder. Cook until tomatoes become soft.

* Step 3

Now add chopped bottle gourd and soaked chana dal, mix well so that it is well coated with the masala. Add 2 cups of water, salt needed, and pressure cook for 2 or 3 whistles.

* Step 4

Once the pressure subsides, open the cooker and cook for another 5 minutes on medium heat. You can adjust the consistency of the gravy by adding more or less water. Garnish with coriander leaves or mint leaves and serve hot with roti or parathas.
