Corny Skillet Cornbread

Corny Skillet Cornbread

This is a quick and simple way to jazz up your favorite cornbread mix and make it even more "corny".

Ingredient

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Open the can(s) of corn, drain the liquid into a large measuring cup and set aside.

* Step 2

Using the liquid from the corn cans as a starting place, add water or milk to the corn liquid make the total amount of liquid required by the package directions.

* Step 3

Add proper amount of combined liquid to dry mix and mix well.

* Step 4

Prepare the cornbread according to package directions, adding eggs, oil, butter, etc as required.

* Step 5

Using a spatula, fold the corn into the batter and mix well.

* Step 6

Bake according to package directions. (Large muffins or cast iron skillet are preferred baking methods).

* Step 7

To bake in cast iron skillet, add 2-3 tbs of oil to skillet and heat on stove over medium heat.

* Step 8

Remove skillet from burner when oil is hot and carefully add batter to hot skillet. (Don't add batter to skillet on hot stove top.)

* Step 9

Place skillet in oven and bake according to package directions. This creates a crispy bottom, and the cornbread is easily removed from the skillet.

* Step 10
