Chawal ke farre is traditional dish from Chattisgarh. It is made from rice flour and uses very less oil. Farra can also be made using dal stuffing of your choice. The plain variety of farra also taste awesome with a mustard tempering.
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
In a bowl mix rice flour, boiled rice, salt, sesame seeds, haldi and zeera. Knead a soft dough by adding warm water little at a time. Set the dough aside for 5 minutes.
* Step 2
Divide the dough into 6 balls and roll out each ball into a thin long cylindrical shape. Cut them into 2 to 3 inches long strips. Steam these strips for 10 to 15 minutes.
* Step 3
In a pan heat oil for tempering. Add the mustard seeds. Let them splutter well. Now add the farra and stir well. Add the chilli flakes and coriander leaves. Mix well.
* Step 4
To serve the farra prepare tomato chutney. Take all the ingredients mentioned under tomato chutney in a mixer jar and pulse it for a few seconds. Enjoy the freshly made Chawal Ke Farre.
