Devil's Food Chocolate Cake

I grew up making this recipe, but I have tweaked it just a bit. I now use butter and buttermilk and incorporate eggs one at a time to give the cake a lighter texture. Enjoy!

Ingredient

Food ration :

9"x13" pan

Cooking time :

50 - 55 min
1 2/3 cup

sugar

3/4 cup

cocoa

1 1/4 tsp

baking powder

1 1/4 tsp

baking soda

3/4 tsp

salt

1 1/2 tsp

vanilla

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Sift together first 6 ingredients.

* Step 2

Add butter and buttermilk. Blend together.

* Step 3

Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition for a total of 2 minutes.

* Step 4

Add vanilla and mix until blended.

* Step 5

Bake at 350° for 50-55 minutes for 9"x13" pan or 40 minutes for 2 - 9" round pans.
