Chakali Diwali Special

A spicy, tasty and crispy festival snack with an easy recipe.

Ingredient

Food ration :

10 persons

Cooking time :

1 hour
1 and 1/2 cup

Rice flour

1/4 liter

Oil for frying

2 and 1/4 th cup

Medium hot water

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Roast poha till crisp then heat roasted Chana dal for half min. Cool and make powder in a small grinder.

* Step 2

Roast rice flour for a minute then add urad dal flour and roast for half a min.

* Step 3

Mix well all flours add sesame seeds, spices and salt. Mix throughly.

* Step 4

Heat oil and add to the flour. Rub fat (oil) to the flour to make crumble like consistency.

* Step 5

Make a dough using medium hot water. Dough should not be to hard or not too soft. It should be of medium consistency.

* Step 6

Take one portion of the dough and knead well to make a cylindrical shape. Place it in a chakali mould.

* Step 7

Press out three to four chakalis and fry in oil on medium heat. Flip the chakalis after about a minute and continue frying for about three minutes more or till chakalis turn golden in color.

* Step 8

Your crispy chakalis are ready. When they are cool put them in airtight containers.
