Luxury Bread and Butter Pudding

The calories amount too 11.500 with an extra sugar crunch on top. Demerara Brown Crystal Sugar or White Granulated Sugar 250 calories. Don't have too add a sugar crunch on top of the Bread and Butter Pudding , so the calories would be only 11.250 calories. Have made a Bread and Butter Pudding before - but never have I spread Butter on the bread slices, or dipped the bread slices in melted butter . I didn't follow a Recipe - I made it up - the custard is based on my recent knowledge.

* Step 1

Boil all the milk in a medium sized saucepan. Have 2 large mixing bowl's available for yourself - crack One hen egg at a time and take that egg too the large mixing bowl that you are about too empty the egg white into - put the half of the cracked egg shell too One side and then pour the egg yolk between your fingers over that mixing bowl - and then place the egg yolk into the other large mixing bowl. Do all 12 - stir with a Dinner Fork, add the sugar and then gradually add the hot milk.

* Step 2

Melt the 500g of butter in the medium sized saucepan. Cut the edges off of the white slices of bread (or brown bread) - dip the first layer of white sliced bread on both sides of the white slices of bread and then sprinkle 100g of Sultanas over the top of the first layer. Dip the other slices of white bread only on One side into the melted butter and the dry sides should be placed on top of the Sultanas an butter and white bread slices.

* Step 3

Add the next 100g of Sultanas and then dip the next slices of white bread - on only the One sides - and then place the dried sides down on top of the Sultanas etc. Place dry slices of white bread over the top and then press down with your hands and then pour the rest of the melted butter over the top. Allow to rest in the Fridge and keep the runny custard in the Fridge as well - within it's large Mixing Bowl. Later gradually seep the custard into the slices of White bread mix (or deep tray).

* Step 4

Set the oven at about Gas Mark 6. Place Demerara Brown Crystal Sugar over the top if using - and then bake in the oven with Kitchen Foil over the top for One hour and then bake for a further 15 minutes without the Kitchen Foil on. The Bread and Butter Pudding is usually eaten cold. Once cooked allow to rest for a long period and then enjoy some slices over a Period of days.
