Turmeric rice (yellow rice)

Turmeric rice is a simple one pot aromatic dish made with rice, spices & herbs, butter.Turmeric rice is rich in flavour and easy to make, healthy plus delicious too, it makes for a great weeknight dinner and ready under 30 mins, serve with curry, stew,ratia or with grilled veggies, no matter how you serve this unique aromatic turmeric rice is going to impress your family, friends for sure. Enjoy

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Rinse rice well in enough amount of waterπŸ’¦, drain and soak for at 15-30 mins. If you are in a hurry, soak them in slightly hot water for 10 mins, drain use as required. Cut all the vegetables and keep aside.

* Step 2

Heat butter, when melted add whole spices, bay leaf πŸ‚, cumin seeds, small cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon sticks, star anise, mace cook for 1 min, add chopped onions πŸ§…, cook until golden, add ginger-garlic paste πŸ§„ mix well. Add all chopped vegetables, black pepper powder in and mix well.

* Step 3

Add green chillies paste, chopped tomato πŸ…, tomato paste, turmeric powder, red chillies powder 🌢️, salt and mix well, add rice mix well, vegetable cube, add warm water, vinegar and mix well, let it boil, when rice becomes tender, soft and serve hot.
