Onion-Marinated Pork Steaks
It is widely known some Fruit & Vegetables contain enzyme that breaks down protein. I heard that the grated Onion can soften tough Meat, so I tried. I want to share this tip with you because Onion indeed softens Meat. And it is a perfect ingredient for a marinade anyway.
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Combine grated Onion, Garlic, Ginger and Sake (Rice Wine) in a bowl. Add Pork Steaks and coat them with the Onion mixture. Cover with plastic food wrap, and set aside for 1 hour or longer in a cool place or fridge.
* Step 2
Prepare the Sauce. If you try the suggested Sauce, combine all the ingredients in a small bowl. Alter the amount to suit your taste.
* Step 3
Scrape off the grated Onion mixture from Pork Steaks, and add the mixture to the sauce.
* Step 4
Season Pork Steaks with Salt & Pepper (OR Ground Chilli), and lightly coat with Potato Starch (OR Corn Starch).
* Step 5
Heat a small amount of Oil in a frying pan over medium heat and cook Pork Steaks until both sides are nicely browned. Remove excess Oil using paper towel if you want to do so, add the sauce, and cook over slightly lower heat until the sauce is thick.
* Step 6
*Note: I sprinkled with extra Pepper before serve.
