Clean-Up-Fridge Okonomiyaki

When you have some Vegetables getting old in the fridge, there are ways to use them up. My ‘Clean-Up-Fridge Curry’ is a good way and I recommend you to try. This is another good way. Just cut all Vegetables into thin strips, mix them with the batter, and pan-fry into a large ‘Okonomiyaki’ pancake. I always enjoy it with Okonomiyaki Sauce and Japanese Mayonnaise, but today I added Sriracha, which I recently discovered goes well with Okonomiyaki.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

To make batter, mix Flour, Water, Egg and Dashi Powder. Cut all Vegetables into thin strips, add to the batter, and combine well.

* Step 2

Oil a frying pan and cook Protein ingredients. *Note: If you use Seafood, Ham or anything that doesn’t have to be cooked very well, you can simply mix them with the batter instead of cooking them separately.

* Step 3

Pour the vegetable mixture over, form a large pancake, and cook over medium low heat. When the edges of the pancake has set, flip the pancakes over, and cook until all the batter is cooked. You may flip the pancakes over a few times while cooking.

* Step 4

Place the pancake on a serving plate and dress with your favourite sauce. Today I used Okonomiyaki Sauce, Japanese Mayonnaise and Sriracha. Sprinkle with Aonori (Dried Green Laver Flakes) if you have it.
