How to make ragu pasta sauce at home
We all have a certain food that makes us feel nostalgic. A reminder of happiness, safety, and comfort. For me, the pasta sauce or ragú my mom and nonna make is all about my childhood. I think everyone on my side of the family is so familiar with the distinct flavour profile. Even my husband recognizes the pasta sauce instantly.

Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Place a medium to a large pot on medium heat on the stove. Add the olive oil.
* Step 2
Add the ground meat. Stir continuously until the meat has separated and browned.
* Step 3
Add the carrots and onion to the pot. Cook until the onion is translucent.
* Step 4
Now add the garlic and let simmer for about a minute while stirring.
* Step 5
Add the paprika and dried herbs to the pot, stir to mix well.
* Step 6
Add the tomato purée paste, and water/broth. About 2 to 3 cups.
* Step 7
Add salt, pepper, and sugar. Stir well and reduce the heat slightly.
* Step 8
Cook down until you get a deep red thick sauce. Stir every 20-30 min. Add water/broth if needed.
