Traditional stuffed melomakarona

After having tried a number of recipes for melomakarona (Christmas honey cookies with walnuts) I chose this particular recipe from my friend Anna, they are super easy to make and very delicious!

Ingredient

Food ration :

2 platters
1 1/2 cup

vegetable oil

1 packet

baking powder

1/2 tsp

baking soda

2 cups

sugar

1/4 cup

brandy

2 cups

water

1 1/2 cups

honey

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Place all the ingredients for the dough in a bowl and then add the solids, mixing well in order to get an incorporated dough.

* Step 2

Take a little bit of the dough, spread it in your hand, place 1/2 tsp of ground walnuts, seal it and then place the melomakarono in a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper.

* Step 3

Bake the melomakarona at 180°C for 30 minutes.

* Step 4

When the melomakarona are baked and have cooled, prepare the syrup.

* Step 5

Boil all the ingredients together and after a couple of minutes, remove from heat, take out the cinnamon and dip the melomakarona in the syrup, using a sifter ladle to take them out. Then place them in a platter and sprinkle with the rest of the ground walnut.
