Tsourekia in the bread machine
This recipe came out by mistake! I was making some other recipe and I made a mistake in the amount of butter. I liked the result so I used it. The tsourekia come out fluffy and stringy!
Ingredient
Food ration :
2 big tsourekia
Cooking instructions
* Step 1
Warm the milk over low heat with the butter so that it melts. It shouldn't boil.
* Step 2
Put them in the pan of the bread machine.
* Step 3
Blend the mastic in the food processor with a bit of sugar.
* Step 4
Add the rest of the sugar into the bread pan.
* Step 5
Continue with the rest of the ingredients (salt, flour, yeast, eggs, mastic).
* Step 6
Set the bread machine to the dough cycle.
* Step 7
This cycle lasts about one hour and a half.
* Step 8
When it is over leave the dough to rise for an additional half hour.
* Step 9
Continue by shaping 2 big or 3 smaller tsourekia which you leave to rise in a warm place for one hour more (I heat the oven at 50 degrees, turn it off and leave the tsourekia inside).
* Step 10
Brush with the egg, thinned with a bit of water.
* Step 11
Bake in a preheated oven at 160 degrees for about 30 to 40 minutes so that they get golden brown.
