Sardine Fra Diavolo

Sardine Fra Diavolo

A spicy Italian tomato sauce with just the right amount of heat made from canned sardines & pantry staples.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Heat olive oil in a dutch oven or large skillet.

* Step 2

Saute onions until translucent, about 10 minutes.

* Step 3

Add minced garlic, saute for a minute or two.

* Step 4

Add white wine, scrape pan to deglaze.

* Step 5

Add crushed tomatoes, red pepper, basil, salt, oregano & parsley.

* Step 6

Simmer, covered, for 15- 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

* Step 7

Taste, add additional red pepper if more heat is preferred.

* Step 8

Add sardines. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.

* Step 9

Salt & pepper to taste if necessary.

* Step 10

Serve over cooked spaghetti or linguine. Enjoy!
