Chocolate Salami

This is my take on this wonderful desert from Italy and Portugal. This one is no alcohol except for the vanilla extract.

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Break up the Maria cookies add the pecan pieces. Melt the chocolate and butter either in a microwave or by double boiler.

* Step 2

Mix the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. When melted add the eggs in and whisk them in till smooth and the sugar is dissolved.

* Step 3

When blended, and smooth add in Maria cookies. Fold them in. Let rest and cool 10 minutes. Add to parchment paper and form a log.

* Step 4

Roll it up in the parchment paper and tie the ends. Set in the refrigerator 4 hours or overnight. When chilled and your ready to serve it unwrap it roll it in the confectioners sugar, and slice it into circles and I hope you enjoy!!!
