Karelian hot pot

A traditional dish of Finland, a meat stew, in a pot, cooked in the oven.

Ingredient

2/3 pound

pork

2/3 pound

chuck, beef

2/3 pound

lamb

1-1/2 teaspoons

salt

Cooking instructions

* Step 1

Preheat oven 350 degrees Fahrenheit

* Step 2

Chop the onions, cut the meat into bite sized pieces, crush the allspice berries.

* Step 3

Layer the lamb in the bottom of pot add half a teaspoon salt and pepper. Add a third of the allspice. Now add half the onion covering the lamb

Now add pork on top of the onion. On the pork add half teaspoon salt, pepper to taste, and a third of the allspice. add rest of onions on top.

* Step 5

Last layer add add beef, season with 1/3 of the allspice half teaspoon of salt and pepper to taste.

Pour your lamb broth just covering the top.

Braise in the oven 2-1/2 to 3 hours.
